Bubba's Lovin'
His New Life!
Bubba, now named JJ, gets the best Christmas gift of all - A home for the holidays and ALWAYS.
What a wonderful gift we received this Christmas morning!
Thank you, Savannah and Jason Keirns, for sending us these great pictures and letting us know how JJ is doing.
And - Thank You for giving JJ a chance for a happy new life!
All of us at Roice-Hurst could not ask for a better Christmas gift than to see one of our beloved homeless pets find their own "forever home." Every time we receive pictures and stories from our adopters, like Savannah and Jason, It's Christmas day all over again. Here's the letter from JJ's new mom and dad:
"Merry Christmas and Thank You!
We have been discussing getting another dog for about two years. However, we were concerned how our 16 year old dog, Jak, would react to the new influence.
We decided that for Christmas this year we were going to get Jak a companion. After hours of searching, we came upon "Bubba" (which is a nickname that Jak has had since he was young) on your website. He looked eerily similar to Jak, who is a Border Collie mix!
We were grateful that JJ (Bubba) hung around long enough at Roice Hurst to join our pack last Sunday. Jak was adopted by me (Jason) when he was 10 months old from the La Plata County Humane Society in 1995 for $17...it was, hands down, the best money I've ever spent.
Jak joined me in the mountains and desert weekend after weekend. He has been my constant companion through thick and thin, summit to slot canyon, he never balked at the opportunity to go into the back country even if it meant carrying his food as well as the stove and fuel for me. Needless to say, the bar was set pretty high for lucky JJ!
JJ came home with us on Saturday, December 18th. He and Jason headed into the desert on Monday for three days of adventure in the San Rafael Swell. JJ was absolutely amazing on the trail.
Thank you SO MUCH for taking care of JJ for the time he was there. We want you to know how appreciative and excited we all are at the opportunity to experience life with JJ! We have included a few pictures to show how much fun JJ was having in the desert.
Thank you again for making our Christmas so special!
